Arthur Zwaenepoel (Gent °1995). I studied molecular biology and bioinformatics at Ghent University (2012-2017), and later did my PhD on Bayesian statistical methods in evolutionary genomics in the group of prof. Yves Van de Peer (2017-2022). My current research focus is theoretical and statistical evolutionary genetics, working on topics related to speciation, currently as a postdoc with Christelle Fraïsse working on the ERC project ‘BryoFit’. I will start an FWO-funded postdoc fellowship in the fall of 2024 with Hannes Svardal at the University of Antwerp. I am strongly interested in genetics, evolution, statistics, philosophy, music, theoretical biology, bryophytes, Fungi etc. etc.
